PaintFE 使用 Rust 语言开发，借助 wgpu 接口实现硬件加速，Windows、Linux、macOS 桌面端依靠 GPU 完成图层合成与特效运算；网页 Beta 版复用同一套核心引擎，通过 WebGPU 或 WebGL 在浏览器内完成图像运算，所有编辑操作均在用户设备本地运行，图片文件不会上传至云端，支持离线使用，充分保障用户素材隐私安全。

完整图层编辑体系

支持多图层、图层混合模式、选区工具（魔棒、套索等），画笔、橡皮擦、渐变、文字工具齐全，支持图层显示隐藏、锁定、调整顺序，满足绘图与照片后期基础工作流。支持 GIF、APNG 动图编辑，可处理动态图像。

GPU硬件加速滤镜与特效

滤镜、图层合成由GPU加速运算，大图、多图层操作响应更快；内置多种图像调节功能，支持选区内单独应用滤镜。

内置 Rhai 脚本引擎，支持自动化

自带 Rhai 脚本编辑器，用户可以编写脚本批量处理图片、自定义滤镜、自动化重复编辑任务，无需重新编译软件，适合进阶用户、批量素材处理场景。

本地 AI 抠图（离线背景移除）

内置本地AI背景去除功能，全程离线运算，不需要联网上传图片，快速分离主体与背景，保护素材隐私。

轻量化便携

桌面端为单可执行文件，绿色免安装，U盘携带即用；程序体积小巧，对比 GIMP、Photoshop 占用资源更低。

Bug fixes

• Text shortcuts now stay with the text editor instead of affecting the canvas underneath.
• Fixed stale pixels appearing after undoing or redoing a crop.
• Layer settings now update when switching layers or documents.
• Pasted images remain editable while navigating and commit when switching to a painting tool.
• Fixed selection size reporting, Windows paths in Document Info and alignment in Recent Files.
• Improved resize input, canvas anchor previews and reset behaviour.
• Fixed numeric controls moving Save As or Preferences while dragging.

• Search Preferences using English or your selected language.
• Customise the bottom-right image information panel's font size, opacity, text colour and background colour under Interface → Advanced Customization.

Validation

• 590 tests passed, none failed and 8 optional or manual tests were skipped.
• Tests ran in small sequential batches.
• Clippy, build, formatting and translation checks passed.
• Live checks covered Preferences search, layout, appearance controls and light and dark themes.
